Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using melissakanouff.com or engaging the services of Melissa Kanouff Author LLC, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the website or our services.

Our services include writing consulting, publishing support, content development, and educational resources, as described on this website. The specific scope of any engagement is governed by a separate written agreement executed by both parties before work begins.
No Guarantee of Outcome
We provide professional editorial, consulting, and content services. We do not guarantee publication, agent representation, book sales, revenue, or any specific outcome from our services. Any statements regarding past client outcomes are illustrative only and do not constitute a promise of future results.
Intellectual Property
All content on this website — including text, graphics, logos, and design — is the property of Melissa Kanouff Author LLC or its licensors and is protected by U.S. and international copyright laws. Client work product is governed by the engagement agreement between the studio and the client.
Client Responsibilities
Clients are responsible for the accuracy of materials they provide, for ensuring they have the right to use any third-party content submitted to the studio, and for complying with applicable laws (including defamation, privacy, and copyright laws) in the materials they ultimately publish.
Payment Terms
Engagement fees, deposit requirements, and payment schedules are set forth in the written engagement agreement. Past-due invoices accrue a late fee as specified in that agreement. The studio reserves the right to suspend work on past-due accounts.
Cancellation & Refunds
Cancellation and refund terms are set forth in each engagement agreement. Generally, work completed and hours billed prior to cancellation are non-refundable; unused portions of advance payments are refunded on a pro-rata basis.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the total liability of Melissa Kanouff Author LLC arising out of any engagement or use of this website is limited to the amounts actually paid to the studio for the services giving rise to the claim. The studio is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Melissa Kanouff Author LLC from any claim arising out of your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the website, or your publication of materials provided to or developed by the studio.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Louisiana, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Acadia Parish, Louisiana.
Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the website after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
